Whilst crossing a Chorley New Road in Bolton, Wharton was knocked down in a hit-and-run accident, around 12pm. She was tended to by paramedics, but passed at the scene of the car accident. Great Manchester Police reported that the car driver failed to stop his black Audi. A 23-year-old man had been detained under the suspicion of dangerous driving, leading to a death.
